In 1948 Moore was awarded the International Prize for sculpture at the Venice Biennale#"There is a great deal still to be done with three-dimensional form as a means of expressing what people feel about themselves and nature and the world around them. But I don't think that we shall, or should, ever get away from the thing that all human sculpture is based on in the end: the human body." 1978#In 1977 Moore established the Henry Moore Foundation to promote the study and teaching of sculpture#One critc described Moore's legacy as "the blending of human and natural form, this ability to see the figures in the landscape, and landscape in the figures, is Moore's greatest contribution to sculpture"#Moore could only afford to devote himself full-time to sculpture when he was in his early Forties#Moore was one of several artists chosen to contribute to the new UNESCO building in Paris in 1958.
